Usage the article “the” before the decade

◎ When referring to a decade (e.g., the 1960s, the 1980s, etc.), use the article “the” before the decade.

Incorrect: Large earthquakes occurred in 1920s.
Correct: Large earthquakes occurred in the 1920s.

★ Note that there is no apostrophe after “1920” and
before “s.”
